Listening
An adaptive module, with reading time before every recording.
The Listening module follows exactly the same logic as Reading: about 40 minutes, capped at 59 minutes, and fully adaptive. There is no fixed number of questions: after every answer the system adjusts the difficulty and stops as soon as your level is established with confidence.
The task types are identical for General and Business; only the context of the recordings changes. In the General version they cover everyday and academic life: conversations, announcements, interview extracts, monologues, study or leisure situations.
Unlike some other exams, every task gives you time to read the questions before the recording starts, announced at the top of the banner. In the official sample this is 10 s (1 question), 15 s (2 questions) or 45 s (five-question tasks, sentence completion, multiple matching).
In the official sample, each recording is played twice ("You will hear the recording twice"). Cambridge's own advice, however, remains to stay focused throughout because the recording is not always repeated. Treat the first play as if it were the only one.
As with Reading, the score is reported on the Cambridge English Scale (82–210) with a CEFR level from B1 to C2. No negative marking: never leave an answer blank.
