Four tasks, one per skill — Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking — available with no account and no subscription.
They mirror the real exam interface: same instructions, same timer, same automatic marking.
Start here to gauge your level and check the format suits you, before committing to the full preparation programme.
💡 Use a headset with a microphone for the Listening and Speaking tasks.
/ Tips
Start by going through the five chapters in order: the first gives the overall picture of the test, the next four cover each skill in detail.
Every chapter opens with a presentation video: watch it before expanding the sections — it covers the essentials in a few minutes.
💡 Come back to it before each mock test to refresh the instructions and the common pitfalls.
This page brings together general vocabulary (B1 to C2) and the thematic vocabulary specific to Linguaskill General.
— General vocabulary: focus on the level just above the one you obtained in an adaptive test.
— Thematic vocabulary: start with the email and the essay — they carry 25% and 75% of the Writing module — then describing data and trends, which is invaluable for arguing from figures.
Select the words you want to remember to build your personalized lists: tick the checkbox to the left of any word to add it to one of your lists (pick the active list in the bar at the bottom of the page, or create a new one).
Then study your lists from your dashboard: open each list, remove the words you've mastered, and print it (or save it as a PDF) to revise offline.
💡 This step requires patience and perseverance—but remember: hard work always pays off!
exercises 6 sets
Lists fade unless you put them to the test. Each 8-question set mirrors a real Linguaskill format — everyday British vocabulary, collocations, phrasal verbs, Listening idioms. Review a list in the Vocabulary chapter, then take the matching set here: in-context recall is what sticks on test day.
Work through the 11 chapters. They cover essential concepts for oral comprehension and expression.
- Do all the exercises to reinforce your learning.
task types
Practise each Linguaskill task format individually before attempting a full adaptive test, or come back to the tasks that need more work.
Reading and Listening tasks are auto-corrected with explanations; Writing and Speaking tasks receive automatic feedback plus a model answer.
💡 Tip: repeat the same task type several times until you feel confident.
mock tests ×10
Reading and Listening are adaptive, like the real Linguaskill: the difficulty of each task adjusts to your answers, and the test stops once your level is established.
Recommended protocol by Erosophia:
- Take an adaptive Reading test.
- Read your estimated CEFR level and the answer breakdown.
- Review your weak points, then retake a test — the task sequence adapts, so no two runs are identical. 💪
💡 Writing and Speaking modules are on their way.
