Vincent de Paul — Priest of the poor and the galley slaves, founder of the Lazarists and the Daughters of Charity, 1581–1660
Son of Landes peasants, a priest at nineteen, a court chaplain, he discovered in 1617 the misery of the countryside and gave his life to it: the Ladies of Charity, the priests of the Mission in 1625, the Daughters of Charity with Louise de Marillac in 1633, the foundlings, the galley slaves. He attended the dying Louis XIII, fought Jansenism, and was canonised in 1737. (Editorial synthesis)

When a piece of information is not in that collection, the encyclopedia says so rather than inventing it — that principle is what makes every answer it does give trustworthy.
