Saint Martin — The bishop of Tours who divided his cloak, evangeliser of the countryside, c. 316–397
Son of a Roman tribune, a soldier by obligation, he divided his cloak with a beggar at Amiens, left the army, founded at Ligugé the first monastery in Gaul and was made bishop of Tours in 371 against his will. He evangelised the countryside by pulling down the temples; his tomb made Tours the first pilgrimage of Gaul, and the Frankish kings took him as patron. (Editorial synthesis)

When a piece of information is not in that collection, the encyclopedia says so rather than inventing it — that principle is what makes every answer it does give trustworthy.
