Linear version: 100 questions in 45 minutes, scored from 5 to 495 points

  • Photographs: 6 questions (6 images with 4 description options per image)
  • Question-Response: 25 questions (25 questions with 3 answer options per question)
  • Conversations: 39 questions (13 conversations with 3 questions per conversation)
  • Short Talks: 30 questions (10 talks with 3 questions per talk)

Adaptive version: 45 questions in 25 minutes, scored from 5 to 495 points

Unit 1:

  • Photographs: 3 questions (3 images with 4 description options per image)
  • Question-Response: 4 questions (4 questions with 3 answer options per question)
  • Conversations: 9 questions (3 conversations with 3 questions per conversation)
  • Short Talks: 9 questions (3 talks with 3 questions per talk)

Unit 2:

  • Question-Response: 5 questions (5 questions with 3 answer options per question)
  • Conversations: 9 questions (3 conversations with 3 questions per conversation)
  • Short Talks: 6 questions (2 talks with 3 questions per talk)

For photographs and question-response items, instructions are not written but are presented orally. The candidate hears three or four options and must choose the single correct answer. These options are neither displayed nor repeated; they are spoken only once.

For conversations and short talks, questions are both spoken and written. The candidate must answer questions about the listened conversation and select the only correct answer.
