unconceptualizable

adj

unconceptualizable

adj

Etymology From un- + conceptualizable.

1

Not conceptualizable.

  • It is not merely our minds which cannot understand God, nor is it merely our concepts which cannot reach him. No mind could understand His Mystery—so long as we mean by a mind a conceptual intellect—and no concepts could apprehend Him. And this is the same as saying that He is, in His very nature, unconceptualizable, that His Mystery and incomprehensibility are absolute attributes of Him.1952, W. T.
