Astronomy, Climatology, Meteorology, Natural sciences An upper atmospheric optical phenomena associated with thunderstorms, in which an elve is immediately followed by a sprite.

  • In the early days of LLTV monitoring it was common to observe an apparent elve followed by a sprite, sometimes called a "sprelve."
